The Hotel Boulderado, named for the words "Boulder" and "Colorado" so that no guest would forget where he or she had stayed, opened to admiring crowds on New Year's Day 1909. Local pride was evident in the generous stock subscriptions which funded the building's construction. Boulder's first luxury hotel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been meticulously restored to its original turn-of-the-century grandeur. The elegance of the lobby's stained glass ceiling, canti-levered cherry staircase, as well as the antique and reproduction furnishings provide the feel of the past with the comfort demanded by today's discriminating traveler. Two expansions in 1985 and 1989 have brought the number of guest rooms to 160 with over 8000 square feet of meeting, conference facilities and reception space. The hotel is located in Boulder's downtown historic district, one block from the award winning Downtown Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall with a variety of restaurants and boutiques. SHOW MAP |
