The Hotel Boulderado, named for the words "Boulder" and "Colorado" so that no guest would forget where he or she had stayed, opened to admiring crowds on New Year's Day 1909.

Local pride was evident in the generous stock subscriptions which funded the building's construction. Boulder's first luxury hotel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been meticulously restored to its original turn-of-the-century grandeur. The elegance of the lobby's stained glass ceiling, canti-levered cherry staircase, as well as the antique and reproduction furnishings provide the feel of the past with the comfort demanded by today's discriminating traveler. Two expansions in 1985 and 1989 have brought the number of guest rooms to 160 with over 8000 square feet of meeting, conference facilities and reception space.

The hotel is located in Boulder's downtown historic district, one block from the award winning Downtown Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall with a variety of restaurants and boutiques. SHOW MAP

Q's Restaurant (www.qsboulder.com) was awarded superior ratings in the Zagat survey and four stars for food, service and ambiance by the Denver Post, as well. In the gorgeous dining room, Chef John Platt and his staff serve delicious Contemporary American Cuisine. The presentations are fresh and artistic, the menus inspired, and the service is superb. Seasonal menus feature fresh seafood, meat, game and vegetarian dishes. A salad of organically grown Boulder County greens accompanies all dinner entrees. The wine list is comprised of an eclectic array of American and International selections. Private rooms are available for meetings and celebrations. Reservations are recommended. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. All major credit cards accepted. All guests of Q's will be valet parked at an hourly fee.

Just one block off Pearl Street Mall, this is the ideal location for a quick lunch, a lively happy hour, late-night meal, or perfectly poured martini. The menu, by Chef John Platt of Q's Restaurant, features fresh salads, superb sandwiches, unique pastas and appetizers. Signature dishes such as the mango BBQ shrimp salad and the sumptuous salmon sandwich are sure to please. Enjoy wine flights, local beers, and delicious food in Boulder's most comfortable dining room or outdoors on its sunniest patio. Menu served 11:30am to midnight Monday through Friday and 2pm to midnight every Saturday and Sunday. All major credit cards accepted.

The famous Catacombs Bar, one of the first liquor licensed bars in Boulder, is open from 4:30 pm to 1:30 am Monday-Friday, and 7:30 pm to 1:30 am Saturday-Sunday. Live blues jam every Monday and music showcase on Wednesday-Saturday. Bar menu available until midnight, drink specials daily and smoking areas available.
