The hotel was built by Frank Drisco in 1903, hence its name. Built as a luxury hotel to serve internationally celebrated guests, both American and from abroad, it has also served those in the neighborhood (known alternatively as "Millionaires' Row" or "The Gold Coast"), by providing accommodations for their guests with style and elegance.
The notables who have stayed range from President Eisenhower to author Kathleen Norris, as well as musicians such as Maestro Josef Krips when he was Principal Conductor of the San Francisco Symphony.
In 1997, Pacific Union Development acquired the property, and in collaboration with Texeira, Inc. completed a renovation of the entire hotel, redesigning its public rooms, redecorating and updating all its guest rooms and creating an Hotel Drisco that now takes its place among the most luxurious properties in the city. |

For our guests requiring extremely spacious and private accommodations, we offer our Two Bedroom Suites. Superbly furnished, they are comprise of an oversized one bedroom suite with king bed, extra large bath and gracious living room area that includes a queen pullout sofa bed. The suite also includes a second adjoining bedroom with king bed and bath that are located down a private hallway connecting the two rooms. Guests virtually feel as if they have their own wing of a private residence. |
